Based in Northern Iowa, Three Ten Timber has a mission to “Reclaim American Heritage, One Board at a Time”. Three Ten Timber was established by Ezrah and Elias with a vision to keep rich American history alive through their roots in craftsmanship and faith. Faith is a major component of Three Ten Timber and is reflected in their iconography and business name which references Romans 3:10, Colossians 3:10, and Matthew 3:10.
Ezrah and Elias travel the country searching for the perfect barn structure to help reclaim and repurpose and, eventually, rebuild on a new owner’s property. They are telling a story with their work and keeping the stories of these barns and structures alive.
After DIYing their first logo, Elias came to me requesting an update and refresh. Their business was quickly growing and gaining notice among potential customers which led to needing a more professional look and identity – something people could visualize when thinking about Three Ten Timber. With a name, mission, and vision as clear and purposeful as these two had, it only made sense that their brand identity reflected that.
We came together and crafted a brand that reflects who they are, where they are headed, and what they stand for. The icon is very symbolic as it’s a combination of a lowercase “T”, a cross, and a knee brace joint – a very common joint structure in the barns they work with. Iconography, font and typography choices, color, and taglines have all come together to form the Three Ten Timber brand, an experience that is organic, rural, masculine, and rich with history.
I’m so excited to see where Elias and Ezrah take this brand, the lives they leave impact on, and the history they keep alive through Three Ten Timber. I’m so grateful to have been a small part of the process.
